How high and wide will Gaultheria procumbens grow?

how high and wide do they grow? how long do the berries last?
Following your advice i've planted them in Levingtons Lime-Free Soil, I have put them in hanging baskets as I thought they would look nice for xmas, would this be OK or should they be moved on?
They're very aesthetically pleasing either side of my front porch.
