what are the red beetles which are eating and laying eggs on my giant lilies, and how do i get rid of them?

Awful bugs! They will destroy your plants in no time at all - the only thing to do (I am chemical free), is to squish them, I'm afraid. (Sorry to all the bug lovers out there). They drop off the plant on their backs, which makes them difficult to see - I've been plagued by them for a couple of years - as soon as I see one now, I squish it - R.I.P Red Lily Beetles.

The dreaded lily beetle. Get rid of them fast and any brown looking poo, as that is the babies. They will destroy your plants
