triple headed daffs

we have planted the same bag of daffodiles in our garden and also in our rockery, and the ones in the rockery have all grown with triple heads, but the others in the rest of the garden are just one headed, why have they grown different in the rockery , when they are all from the same batch.

Hi Gnown and welcome to GoY, are you absolutely sure you did not plant a different species of narcissus in the rockery or that they weren't already there? Which one was it that you planted?
