Hello Ged, have you cut the pyracantha back, recently or before Decembers cold snap? having said that pyracanthas are very resilliant to hard pruning and will respond, give it a feed and keep it well watered and in a few weeks time new shoots will emerge, have renovated may pyracanthas over time by using this method and good results have always been achieved but like i say Decembers cold blast may have an effect if pruned before.julien

Old ones may not sprout, but if the stems at the base are less than wrist thick, it will probably come back.
