Located in East Midlands, 20 ft. eucalyptus tree has suffered from winter frosts for the first time; all the leaves are brown and slowly dropping off. There are no signs of any new growth as yet. Will it recover?

Hello,, here in Derby i have come across a few eucalyptus that dont look to healthy, all the leaves have gone brown on most of them, i have done bark scrapings on these trees and there is no green beneath the bark just looks dead, however i will wait a little while longer before taking any action, possibly try a few bark scrapings if it looks healthy then you may be ok, also have come across many ceanothus which appear to be dead, some in fact are but some are now budding up along the stems, Julien.

Eucs frequently come back from near the roots, so I wouldn't give up until near midsummer. Remarkably resilient trees!

How do I say thanks?
