Britain In Bloom
Asked on 7 Feb, 2008
Anyone connected to a local "In Bloom" group? For my sins I have been running our local group for the last 4 years and this year we are finally entering the `Yorkshire In Bloom` competition! Any tips appreciated!

A neighbouring village - Falkland -in Fife - was featured on TV last year, coz it made the EUROPEAN finals (which it always deserved to do). I watched several dignitaries from various countries try to say Falkland and thought "What a great "jollly" this would be "pour moi". It requires input from the local school all the way up, getting grants from the Community Council perhaps via the County Council.Falkland's commitment is amazing! Perhaps you can find something online?

Dek has been one of the judges for Worcestershire's 'Bewdley in Bloom' for the last 2 years and thoroughly enjoys it. He says just do your best and enjoy taking part. The 'In Bloom' concept is wonderful isn't it? It encourages pride in the appearance of one's surroundings and brings people together - worth entering for this alone!
