I'm slightly confused - these bulbs should be planted in autumn ready for flowering in mid to late spring...

I didnt get my bulbs in until early feb and they are growing well 4" above the soil already.

mine are twice as deep as the bulb is high. in full sun in free draining soil. and about 1ft apart as the flower heads are pretty big. hope this helps.
