There are many cultivars of this species available in the warmer parts of the United states, but I don't know what's available in its South Africa homeland.

Natal Plum - Carissa grandiflora, Carissa macrocarpa, of the family Apocynaceae. Amatumgulu appears to be the Zulu word for this plant.
