when can i plant red robin hedging, pyracantha and ground cover plants

Hi Dee and welcome to Goy. Not sure where you are living in the UK but I'd advise waiting until spring now the way the weather is already behaving. We were planning on moving some shrubs - not a chance!

best time is very early spring for your red robin .

In any of the mild winters we've had during the last few years up till last year, you could plant the hardy evergreens such as pyracantha, photinia, throughout winter as long as the ground's not frozen. However, this year, looks like its shaping up to be worse than last year, possibly, so I'd be reluctant to plant in case it is, and wait till early spring, assuming conditions are fair. Optimum time for planting both those shrubs would have been September/October, as it is for most.
