i have just bought a Cotinus "Royal Purple" atfter seeing a neighbours .Hers is in the garden and is very bushy.I have no garden as such so was hoping to plant mine in an old chimmny pot.Would it florish?

No - I really don't think so, sorry, it's potentially a large shrub, and a chimney would be too small.

Better to plan on a large tub, and some creative pruning of tops and roots.
