Find a space in the garden large enough to accommodate its eventual size (8 x 8 feet if its spotted laurel, 25 feet high by 12 wide if its Prunus laurocerasus), plant in ordinary garden soil which doesn't dry out completely, keep watered as necessary until settled in.
