The first snowdrops,
Here on the allotment garden I have the snowdrops just come into flower, has anyone else ? And what about camellia, I have some in the back garden that are nearly breaking bud, so looks like they will be in bloom before the years out.

I know there are different snowdrop varieties and some do flower very early.
I've got crocuses coming up since November but not ready to flower yet.

That's amazing. We are just settling in for a long cold snowy winter. No crocuses until late March.

Galanthus ewersii Barne's form always flowers from November onwards. G.peshmenii is an autumn flowering species and there are a fair number more whose names escape me at present.

There's no sign of my snowdrops and Camellia isn't anywhere near flowering I do, though, have a rather nice crop of weeds appearing!
Note to self: when the weather is better get outside and deal with them..

First tiny tips of snowdrops appearing in places but have several Camellia buds showing pink. (In a pot, under a South wall...)
Oh weeds Arbuthnot - yes, and they were nearly all cleared in the autumn. You would never know to look at them.

All I hear is the the doleful howling of the frigid North wind.

Well done Julien. I think it has been a very mild autumn in general, so not totally surprising. I know that some GoY friends have snowdrops already. I myself have just seen the very first slivers of white appearing on the buds of my first clump. But my camellias are nowhere near flowering. The buds are still quite small. :) Happy Christmas
