You need a very sharp knife and you must be able to get some good root with the plantlets or shoots at the base - dig around a bit and see if that's possible before you try. Without a good bit of root attached, they won't grow on separately.

Just want to add, Mrs.pbarker, that its not necessary to add thanks underneath your question, in the answerbox - if you want to say please in your question, do (some members can be a bit shirty about that) but if you add thank you in the way you have, you may not get an answer - when I saw 1 answer registered, I nearly didn't click on your question, assuming it was already answered.
