Conference is a late pear Guest. Late September, edible in Oct-Nov. Grow a Williams too......that will keep you away from premature picking of Conference, as they ripen on the tree around now. If you don't get there first the slugs snails and birdies will beat you to it. Conference can be gently removed later on but may not ripen for you if you do this.
