Yes, no reason not to except that you will have to find somewhere dry to store them.

I try to buy as fresh a compost as possible. If at a garden centre i will ask how old the compost is, they hopefully will be helpful and should know. "Gardening Which" where campaigning for years for the compost manufacturers to stamp the bags with a sell by date as it is a product that goes off. If storing, as said, keep in the closed bag,in dry and shade.

If kept dry potting composts only deteriorate slowly but, as we all know, most garden centers keep them in the outside sales area where they regularly get rained on :-(.
