My laburnum tree is about 20yrs old it flowers every year but not this year, i have noticed a huge mushroom like growth at the base mo the trunk, should i have the tree removed.?,.,The tree has not flowered this year ..

If you want the tree gone, then have it removed. I'm not sure what's going on with it, but a photo would surely help.

I lost mine to honey fungus many years ago. the toadstool is a sign that all is not well. scrape some bark back is there a white thread like layer that smells of mushrooms? if yes then it has honey fungus. the toadstools appear around September/October usually.

as Bathgate says a photo would be good.
