why has our lupinus shed all its petals so soon after planting, or is this common with this plant. it was planted 3 weeks ago with new multi compost and good earth underneath,

If you planted it when the lupin was in flower then the stress of doing so has caused it to drop its petals. Keep well watered and cut off any seed heads.
