I have a large Crinodendron but the squirrels have devastated the lantern flowers....its a bit straggley. Can I cut it back if so when? Thanks for the reply. will do it tomorrow

Late spring to early summer is ok - so just in time! They are usually just pruned for shape but if it has got leggy then i would be tempted to cut it back hard - even down to 3 foot or so. If this seems too extreme! try cutting all the longest growths right back to the base, and shorten others by 50% or so. You want to aim for a good framework coming from the base to support top growth.

The squirrels have discovered the nectar and are feeding off that.
