I suggested one to Jacque that is thornless - Zephirine Drouhin - a deep pink, or else I also have 'Albertine' on the front of the house which is a paler pink. Very prolific flowerer!

Try Madame Alfred Carrier ,white and the scent is heavenly. Zepherine Drouhin again a wonderful scent but I found it difficult to keep healthy looking. Albertine again great but very thorny.

I too am looking for a climbing rose and my mother-in-law suggested a rose called Dublin Bay - at a local open gardens she saw one growing up a side of a house and was particularly impressed by it.
