Hi everyone, I have an iris bed that is not perform, bearded irises, I am going to dig them all up, split them, but I need to know the type of soil to add to my lifeless mound. I know how to plant them, I need to know soil type to add, and also what fertilizer to add to same soil thanks.

Hi, they prefer a neutral to slightly acid soil, add some low nitrogen fertilizer to the planting hole, Derek.

My irises didn't flower this year due to the vigorous growth of all the other plants. They needed their rhizomes exposed to the sun. I have planted two lots in pots with 75% grit which have established within a week and the others in the garden are now exposed to the sun.
