I have a pieris veriegata which i have had for a number of years now. Last summer it performed beautifully as usual until the leaves turned to that beautiful creamy yellow colour then the leaves started to turn a rusty brown and drop off now the same thing is happening this year. the plant is about 2 ft tall and is in a 2 ft container in full sun south facing.

Full sun's the problem - this is a woodland plant and likes dappled shade. Move it to a more appropriate position.
