I was going to buy one of these but after checking out your comments I do wonder whether they will do anything in Devon where winters are always milder than the rest of UK. Also, as it dies after flowering, is it the right time of year for new heads to grow?

Hi, I live in the north of Scotland and grow various Meconopsis. They definitely do better in acidic or acid to neutral soil, and where they get a good cold winter.

Thankyou for your help. I will give it a go. Think I'll try it in a pot.

They do very well in pots, do make sure they are not in full sun and do not dry out at the roots.

If you check out the 'Plants' section of my page, you will find meconopsis plus some information I have gathered while trying to grow these - might help you make a decision. With a moister climate and less hot summers than here in Berkshire, you stand a better chance than me
