Oak leaf problem
Oak leaf problem
Asked on 1 Jul, 2008
I have grown several oak saplings from acorns with my two young sons. In early spring they show no sign of problems until into June when the leaves start to go yellow and crispy and we lose the leaves. I cant see any sizeable trace of insect damage, if at all. Could it be because they are in pots? or nutrient deficiency? if so do they prefer acid or alkali soil? Is it Oak mildew....and crucially if it is what can I do to save them?

I can't see the size of the pots. I reckon they need planting out in the soil, Jack. If it were a disease, they would more likely have died by now. I don't think Oaks have a preference to acid or alkaline. Is there somewhere they can be planted out?
