just play it bye ear.if you put your finger in the soil down to the first joint and it feals dry water it .watering depends a lot on the weather you see.you will soon get the hang of it.what is as importent is the drainage you give plants in pots ie broken clay flower pot or stones etc . im geussing thats right or they probably wouldnt of grown at all.

As long as the pots have drainage holes in the bottom, water when the surface of the compost is dry till water runs from the bottom of the pots.
