flower sort of looks like a tulip but at this time of year I have Kaffir lilies still out. do you possess one. certainly not a nerine.

the way the flowers come of the stem does look like kaffir lily. I've just loaded a photo of a kaffir lily. have a look and see what you think. :o)

Ditto. Schizostylis coccinea (although 'they' have renamed it, and it's now hesperantha coccinea)

If it's flowering now almost certainly Kaffir lily, also called Schizistylis coccinea or Hesperantha coccinea. It's the right colour.
