can anyone help me, i have a victoria plum it is now 3 years old, it is now april and i have only had 3 flowers on it. i am new to garderning and not sure when it is ment to blossom. the last 2 years i have had no problem with the leafs coming out. but nothing this year.
i live in crete, greece. so i dont know if that would make any diference.
would be greatfull for any help.

Hi Shirley. I presume the plant was bought over there?

It may well be on a rootstock that is more vigorous than ones used over here. I think once it becomes established (perhaps another 2-3 years) it will settle down to a flowering and fruiting routine.

Your climate is absolutely fine for plums and indeed any other stone fruit too, especially apricots, peaches and almonds.

thank you for your answer, i will leave it a few more weeks to see if the leaves come out.

Sorry, I slightly misread your question. If there is no sign of leaves yet (I presume they would be appearing there by now) check the stems for any signs of weeping or bleeding. Hopefully none or it could be a bacterial infection. I would still leave i for a while yet anyway.

How do I say thanks?
