As for the newly planted ones, you say you planted them last autumn - first, daffodils prefer to be planted by the end of August, so if you planted them very late, that might make a difference, otherwise, I don't know where you live, but our daffodils here in West London are only just starting to flower, being very late this year. Is it possible yours have yet to flower?
