i have a small built up garden in the back yard, when cleaning the leaves of there was a lot of jumping flies, how do i get rid of them

these sound like springtails. They wont do any harm. when you say back yard is it concrete, if yes then hose the path. They help break down any fallen leaves if they are on soil just leave them aone.
