I would prefer to sow them in trays indoors then pot them on later and then when could I plant them out?could I do this now..the seeds are ready? thank you

If the pods are starting to split and showing black seeds, then you can harvest and sow now. Should they germinate this year I would put the seedlings in the greenhouse, or similar, over winter.
