I have several large bamboo plants in my garden & wondered if you can split them to plant elsewhere?

I would not like to even attempt to move Bamboos.
We had to do that a few years ago.and it took two men two days, with a pick and a chainsaw!!
Mine would have been over two metres circumference,but it had died after "flowering" so had to be moved.

In theory, you can dig out a cane from the edge of the clump and replant it, but that's the theory...as Bren says, it is not so easy in practice!
