Would the roots from a Stags Horn Sumach damage the foundations of my house. I now have suckers coming up in the lawn from the tree and am contemplating taking the tree down, but I do not really want to.

Love this tree/shrub. Agree with Worthy that its roots are not strong enough to affect foundations.

Funny trees, as they react almost in devilment if they get pruned or restricted at the top end by growing suckers madly from the roots, as if they know they're under threat. The roots are not robust enough to bother house foundations, I'm sure, as it's only a little tree, but when you cut it down be ready for the explosion of suckers even quite some distance from the tree.
