Some of the leaves on my clematis have gone brown.Is this a case of clematis wilt?I have grown it in a pot for several years and it has always flowered really well.

Brown stems are 99% of the time due to dry roots, not clematis wilt.
Remember clematis are vines - vines need copious water.
Any plant in a pot needs twice the amount of water to one growing naturally in the ground.
