How do you prune a foxtail fern. It is in a large pot. How would it do in the ground in middle Georgia?

Answers

I would not actually prune a foxtail fern, or Asparagus densiflorus "Myersii", just cut off any damaged shoots, as for planting outside, they need a minimum winter temperature of 45 deg f, planted in fertile, moist but well drained soil, in a sheltered position, in partial shade.
Sorry I don't know what your minimum winter temps are, but any lower than 45 and you will lose it, Derek.

It can actually take brief frosts down to 29ยบ F, but, except for right next to the coast, Georgia is going to be too cold for it.

How do I say thanks?
