kent, United Kingdom
hello I have had some lovely Lupins in my garden that are noe producing seed pods.Do I collect them late as possible? They are turning brown? And when can Iplant them to increase my stock?many thanks
just a quick one would you continue with collecting sweet peas pods if you had been replanting them for 4 years or is it time to get new seeds next spring? The flowers are very good particularly scented this year but just going off now!Shame they come to an end!

I'm not sure when yoiu should sow the lupin seeds, but wanted to warn you they're unlikely to come up as the original plants - the seeds usually revert to the original lilacy coloured lupin. I'd still grow them and see what happens though!

The pods are probably starting to split and shed their seeds, so the time is right. I think they could be planted now as this is what happens in nature, but I am not sure if you must wait until next spring. I am going to plant some now and see.
The sweet pea seeds would be good as your plants are healthy, but if you want a change, check out Roger Parsons. This is the national collection and the seeds are cheaper.
