fish and frogs

What do you think about keeping goldfish in a pond that you're also hoping to have frogs in? I'd like to get some goldfish, but I wonder if they eat tadpoles or spawn?

Yes, I saw mine munching on the occasional tadpole when we lived in Essex. But there are soooooooo many tadpoles from one bunch of frogspawn that it will be a case of "survival of the fittest (and fastest)" so - if frogs like your environment - frogs there will be.

male frogs will 'clamp' onto smaller fish and cause damage/death to the fish during the spawning season. but once the fish are big enough its not a problem.

Once the fish get over a certain size, they do indeed eat the tadpoles.
