This, plus the 2 little ones did fine over the winter outside here. My Pineapple Sage lost all its leaves but is resprouting from near the base, will grow into a much bigger plant, but not so hardy.

I grew pineapple sage for a few years here but it never started flowering till just before the first frosts so hardly saw any flowers, gave its place to something else :-)
This year I'll leave hot lips outside and take a few cuttings quite a few other sages are fine here so it should be, just thought it might be a shock its first year here but in the end it was a mild winter :-)

Wow Kathy, that's soon flowering, they're more like an annual, aren't they. No flowers on my plants grown from seed yet. If you get some seed from hot lips, it would be good to have some ?. Did I send you seed from the cerise pink one too?

June 3rd, absolutely masses of flowers now, all red, not complaining, just an observation.

Strange isn't it, wonder if it is related to length of day light, not temperature surely, that has been up and down.

11 Jun, 2016

Very odd, but eventually you have 'hot lips' in its entirety.
