Gorgeous nice to see a different colour. Do you have to stake yours like I have to.

No, I grow mine behind a low box hedge which protects them from strong winds

I'm trying to decide which I prefer, the red or the yellow, too exotic looking for a cottagey garden.

Ahrr clever I shall have to find a place to support mine.

I too grow these in front of a Cornus and alongside Rhodo so quite protected and have had them years. Love them!
I have the orange ones under a weeping pear. They too do well every year but many more disappeared; I believe
they rotted away as the position they were in more exposed and garden slopes slightly.
I saw someone yesterday carrying two potfuls of a shorter variety which she had bought on the market. I think Monty mentioned these on his last programme.

The shorter ones may well have been fritillaria eduardii

I could do with some shorter ones!!
