My $6 hunk of Jackfruit. (Artocarpus heterophyllus (Ekmek Agaci) Jackfruit.)

I'm going to plant the seeds..maybe some day, pick one.
You should have seen the whole ones 24" long or more and many pounds in weight. Like a medium sized dog in weight.

Looks like a hedgehog Stan. I've never seen one of these before. Like you, sometimes I buy fruit just for the seeds, just to see if you can get them to grow.

This one is a bit on the old side..but I really bought it for the seeds.
When seedling Jackfruit are still growing the immature foliage- its lobed and very ornamental.
Then,-too bad- it follows with adult foliage,a generic oblong leaf.
Still,a nice dark green if happy.

The seeds usually germinate quickly. It's such a beautiful tropical tree!

I posted a photo for you of the Jackfruit tree two miles from my house. I think it has fruit on it.
