There is something about the face of this flower, it makes me feel good, and appreciate nature even more.

A very pretty earwig delicacy ?!? I haven't come across zinnias before. They look a lot like dahlias

yes they do look like dahlia flowers but the zinnia is a woody plant where the dahlia are quite succulent. I like zinnias because they are terrifically easy from seed and always put on a colourful show.

It is lovely. I grew a cutting garden of mixed color zinnias. The butterflies are all over them:)

Nice shot. Yours still look nice and fresh. Mine are looking very tired now.

Planted free seeds very late (end June). therefore they were late flowering. Next year will sow earlier since already have seeds. They filled gaps in front and back and added to the Autumn colour.
7th April 2008. Planted 1 pkt Z Elegans 9greeny yellow) in yellow bed and some near viburnum in side garden with Marigolds. Also planted 2 pkts mixed from Ukraine in lower beds near path.
in my climate zone this wonderfully colourful plant is an annual... it is susceptible to powdery mildew and it seems that bees, ant and earwigs love to cut their leaves...but only for a short period and usually with no lasting damage to the plant...they are sturdy, tall and a good middle ground plant for colour punctuation..their colours are always pure and bright from a zingy orange to a very potent yellow , to pure carmine red and magenta, fuchsia and pinks... sometimes with dual coloured petals...upper surface pink...lower surface white or greenish white... planted with Dahlias they can hold their own in the colour department but the size of the blossom is standard...with only moderate enlargement as they scenesce... they also add colour variety when planted with rudbeckia and echinacea...
