Although the book says this is easy, the author obviousy doesn't have MY snails. They absolutely love it and I've never managed to keep a plant for more than two weeks :-(

Planted spring 08 west border rear garden

Given by my mother in 2006. Unfortunately not many of the plants from my parent's garden tend to do well here. I don't know whether it's because they have much greener fingers, are more trigger-happy with pest control or whether it's because they are in a seaside location on free-draining soil and I'm on London clay. Either way, the doronicum is still around, but has been rather lacklustre and I have a sneaking suspicion it's not going to last much longer. It doesn't help that this is snail central HQ, of course - my garden survivors are generally snailproof.
