They are old fashioned red singles. The only ones I have seen are about four blocks away, so it may have been a seed from theirs, who knows! I enjoy them anyway...

Wish I could grow these ! It's so pretty ! Used to have a few of them, but they always wound up getting rust, and the japanese beetles thought they were candy !

Members' notes...
I grew a packet of annuals from seed in 2007. They went rather tatty in the hot weather, but revived and the flowers were very pretty. I also planted some biennuals to flower in 2008. They looked wonderfully healthy until September when they were overtaken by rust. I sprayed about twice but will need to continue treatment when growth starts again in Spring. They may not survive.
9th March. Seed from last years dwarf mexed sown in side gaden near Mahonia, and in lower garden next to fence.
Original plant by birds under front hedge. Transplants all over yard now.
I have black and pink
2 x planted in w border rear garden jul 08 in purple section. Unique, dark maroon single flowers along the stem Jul - Aug. Full sun. H: up to 150 cms.
