Hi Jacque, no, I don't have a problem with mold on the ajuga, but I do sometimes get it on a few other plants. Maybe the problem is the location?? Maybe it's not getting enough air circulation? Not enough sun? I'm really not sure why you have a problem with mold. Maybe someone else can help you better.

Hi. I love this stuff...found that a light topdressing with compost/topsoil makes them very happy! love that blue.
I have had downy mildew on my honeysuckle, my sister recommended a light spritz with baking soda in solution. It worked for me!

I'm a big fan of the ajuga although the flowers aren't the best thing in the world the leaves more than make up for it and of course they last forever! Hel.xxx.

Thanks for a really good combination idea, Chris. I have ajuga with violets. When they get going I will post...I think ajuga is one of the nicest ground covers. It likes to be snugged up with compost...seems almost to grow out of the soil...but really settles down when given a thin top dressing.

I'm sure it will do well Janette in a less sunny place if its quite large why not split it and get some extra plants from it? I do it all the time and it's also a way of keeping the plant in check as although it is without doubt a brilliant groundcovering plant it sometimes tries to cover others around it.Hel.xxx.

half shade protect from midday sun, - cuttings in spring
Grown as ground cover in our woodland area. Ours here is A. r. 'Burgundy Glow'
Multicoloured foliage - we are growing this over mounds of turf that we took off to create the beds and paths when we arrived here. Seemed to spread well in 2007 - will see how it does this year. Looks suitably vigorous at this point.
Very successful ground cover. Nice reddish purple leaves.
Spreads very nicely under hostas.
Blooms in April
any reasonable soil,
sun or partial shade
