Jeez this si stressful!
I think maybe third one came out when I went to the shops. So this maybe the 4th one.
Poor little thing got stuck coming out..but I managed to get it back in the box, didnt want to try and pull it ouut incase I took its wee legs off. So its back in and the Parent is going nuts out there.
I thought I had taken a video but forgot to press record!!!!!!!!
Stressssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!
Phoned the RSPB back up as nobody came. The lady told me to give it sugar and water which I did, then to release it if i thought the leg was ok, which it seemed to be. When I took it out I toook a video which i will put on you tube soon for you to see. But I had to catch it again before it went into fatboy’s jungle next door and Sarah took the camera and missed some of it lol.
Anyway she heard another one at the other side of the garden so I picked up the other one and put them together. The Parent has been feeding them..well last time I looked through the binoculars there only appeqared to be one which the mum was feeding. I will jsut have to let nature takes its course now..and yes have a cuppa and about 20 ciggies to calm down lol.
Hope you all enjoyed these blogs, I found it all so interesting :)

The one that got stuck

Saw the parent ( only seems to be one now?) with one of its babies on top of the tree next door..at least one has survived..cant see or hear the others now

Another baby sitting on the fence..think its a baby blackbird?

The two babies down at the bottom of the garden

thanks all...unfortunately the last fledgling was totally stuck..so I managed to free it..but i think its wee leg might be broken.. I have it in a cardboard box in the kitchen and are waiting on the RSPB tp arrive to see what we can do. The lone parent is still feedling one of them in the tree..but i think the rest maybe dead. Next door's cat was out on the prowl..i said to neighbour could you keep him in and he jsut laughed!!! i was mad!
anyway we shall see hwat happens next. GLad i got some pics. :)

What a day you've had, Pixi. I think you must be exhausted after all that. Hope the news of your wee birds gets better.

5 Jun, 2012

I think you need a cup of tea to unwind lol but it's good that you are keeping an eye :o)

5 Jun, 2012

Indeed it has been! Hope so too..not seen any sign of any of them ladt 2 hours but its raining now so they are prolly hiding in the bushes. lol no its not fatboy its the other neighbour.l.i was shocked at him! Calm? not yet lol

Lol, I was high all day when the little darlings in my garden fledged, and distraught, saw it all again a few weeks ago when the magpies raided a blackbird nest in the ivy, the poor parent birds were trying in vain to attack it! I just happened to look out of the bedroom window when it was going on puh..
I looked at your vid Pixi, poor little thing,so tiny and frightened..

5 Jun, 2012

Awwwww. here were magpies here this morning but i chased them. Shame i couldnt have watched them all day long..but well i guess its nature. no sign of any of them tongiht. Thanks for looking at the video..yes it seemed so fragile i wanted to keep it in the house.

You've done what you can Mamma Pixi :))

6 Jun, 2012

Oh my goodness! Pixi, you must be exhausted! Baby birds everywhere - even on the kitchen table! They are so sweet, though...how could you not get involved...

Lil's right! You've done your bit and now the young 'uns will fly the nest. Well done, hen! :)))

6 Jun, 2012

Yeah I did all I could..tho I wish I had had an aviary so I could have kept them safe. I think a couple of the babies got eaten by a horrible black cat in fatboy's garden last night. I see the Parent, still only one, flying back and forwards with food to two trees about 3 gardens along from me, so its hopeful that maybe a couple of them survived. Yes was exhausted last night K...didnt sleep too well tho. :)

6 Jun, 2012

You cannae worry about them forever, Pix...it's nature's way...x

I remember when Teddy took a whole nest of them...and one of a pair of nesting wrens...it was heart-breaking, but...

6 Jun, 2012

oh no! i couldnt bear that! Well this morning I saw Parent going back and forwards from the feeder to a couple of trees along the roads a bit. Think two might have survived at least. Not seen r heard anything else except loads of baby starlings! Dunno what happeend to the other parent either. Raining today so they will be hiding out somewhere cosy I hope :)

TRhey should have just stayed in the box! lol

6 Jun, 2012

Now don't you go nailing up the door, next time!! lol! ;)))

6 Jun, 2012

Aye I'll need to make another one with a door and maybe a perspex side with a cover over it so i can have a wee peek when the parents are away! :) WIll look inot that!

6 Jun, 2012

That might work!
When we had the pottery in an old, but nearly converted barn, there was a 6" plastic plumbing pipe through the wall. It was still covered in plastic sheeting on the inside and there was a hole cut in the plasterboard so you could see in.

But, the bluetits couldn't! They built their nest right up against the plastic! It was brilliant!

6 Jun, 2012

How about those tiny nestbox cameras......you,d never get anything done!

6 Jun, 2012

Between here and there, Pam...??

...and don't encourage her...! She's bad enough, as it is.
Kitchen'll be full of waifs and strays...and Suki'll be in a strait-jacket...ooh lo lo lo.....

6 Jun, 2012

Isn't life hard when you are a back-up mum for young birds?

6 Jun, 2012

lol K! Aw that sounds great in the barn :)
I was thinking of one of those camera ones for next year actually Mrs K! lolol
Yeah if my house was bigger and I had the time and money i would prolly have a wee sanctuary here lol :))
Keep seeing the lone parent coming back here getting food then flying over to the trees along a bit form me..so hopefully some are still alive..not seen them :(
