Well…I was up town on some business and just happened to pass B&Q..no I didt pass it lol..I needed some weed killer for the front path…and I jsut had a wee saunter around the outside area where the plants are. I was actually looking for someone to ask if they knew about the hop plant problem..well..lol I saw these Gentians…and I couldn’t help but get one, then I saw these summer flowering Clematis which I thought would be good at bottom of garden as ther isnt much colour there after the Astilbe and Campanula die off..so I got that too! Oh dear..I was supposed to be watching my pennies! But you all know what that feels like..you want it..so you have it no matter what! lol
So when I was out planting them up I was tying up my poor battered rose and one of the good heads fell off! grrrrrrr!
I have just sprayed the hop plant with garlic and the garden now smells like an Italian kitchen lol..my good neighbour came out and asked what I was cooking hahha.

Warsaw Nike a summer flowering Clematis ( Got the proper name arent you impressed! )

Makinoi Marsha Gentian

Poor wee rose that broke off :(

Just thought this looked pretty..its an old English rose which grows around the old clothes pole..still not sure of its name but it smells divine!

We do have to look after the pennies but you can't put a price on happiness. So enjoy, they look great.

I have 'Warsaw Nike' (pronounced:Var Sharv Ska) (Nee Ka) no I don't speak the lingo, just happened to see it on a clematis website.

Mine is one of the two I rec'd from a gardening mag offer. The other being 'The President'. Both are both still small, but should be quite spectacular next year. Fingers crossed.

After being fed false info by GRANNY D,regarding a pot sale at Homebase, earlier in the year I won't be rushing off to B&Q today.

Did buy some good value plants from Morrisons earlier in the week. I only went in for some bacon.

Funny that isn't it? Lol

B&Q defo has it's uses. I bought loads of geraniums at half price about 6 weeks ago and they are doing wonderful. Although the rain today isn't helping lol. That Makinoi is gorgeous :-)

I always check out B+Q clearance area, last week I picked up a sad looking bamboo for next to nothing, I don't even know why it was reduced,(big plant little car -errrm but I got it home lol) and 4 little ivy plants for 20p each, they had seen better days but are all sprouting and will look lovely in window boxes next year.

Love that gentian what a beautiful colour and the clematis. Shame the rose broke off. I'd pop it in a glass of water in the house somewhere, flowers usually end up on the kitchen windowsill when that happens.

It seems were all in a plant buying mood (is anyone ever not in a plant buying mood?), I took my nan, mom, aunt and brother (god knows why he came lol, he was only bored) out today to a craft centre and ended up comming back with a pot of mint, a pot of thyme and a pot of rosemary. Very nearly picked up a rudbekia as well but it didn't look very good for the price they were asking. My aunt ended up with two heuchera's and a little alpine plant whose name escapes me. Only thing for me, now I need some more potting compost :P hmm will I resist the plants? Last time I went for compost I came back with about 40 plants but no compost lol.
