Blue Jays are very common in my yard. A lot of people don't like them because they can be a bit noisy and intimidating to other birds. I find though at my ground feeding station the other birds will come in and eat with them. This bird is known to mimic Red-shouldered and Red-tailed Hawks. Now how smart is that ! I went outside once and heard a hawk calling and couldn't for the life of me find the hawk. Here it was a Bluejay mimicing. One time I heard a Bluejay mimic a Red-shouldered hawk and then 10 seconds later a Red-tailed. I also once saw a Blue Jay stuff over 50 black-oiled sunflower seeds into his mouth at once ! Cool birds.
