Bernieh:

Beautiful Queen Palms! I see a very nice Plumeria obtusa 'Singapore' there also.

They are quite lovely - as I've mentioned before I rather like the slender palms. As for the poor old plumerias - there were two of them and they were looking a bit sad as a result of the water restrictions.

Bernieh:

That's sounds unusual..most Plumeria trees here receive no water at all in the Summer...and bloom very well and look very healthy. They are extremely drought tolerant tres...even the Singapore Plumeria. I do know the Singapore Plumeria would prefer to have more water than Plumeria rubra though.

I love tall old Queen Palms...many people think they are just too common though.

The plumeria were not looking as good as I had expected - I suppose I was comparing them to the ones that are in my youngest son's garden down in Brisbane. I also think that the Queen palm is a bit under-rated.

Yes, in a personal garden one give Plumeria all that tender loving care they need.

I think Queens Palms are under-rated here...however, they are still so very commonly planted in the landscape and as street trees. In San Diego, CA. Queen palms (street trees) are trimmed twice a year -- once in Spring and in Fall.
