Last year the city of Brisbane was under strict water restrictions and the Botanic Garden's beds suffered as a result. Many of the garden beds are a little bare - the water restrictions have only just been eased.

Delonix Brisbane reached Level 5 restrictions (there's only 6 levels) and that meant home owners had to water their gardens using a bucket and they had to use a timer when they showered!! I'm not sure how the council kept the grass green at the gardens - they might have had an exemption period once a month or something.

I know here some areas use 'gray' (reclaimed) water for plants. By California State law is has to be posted (as non-potable water) also.

Yes Delonix - in some places but it is not a common thing. We actually use 'grey' water in our garden here and many households do the same thing - but it tends to be more popular in the outlying semi-rural suburbs like mine. Many properties out here also use bore water (underground water) but unfortunately we don't have a very viable source here on our property.

Yes, many semi- rural to rural areas of San Diego County use well-water (bore water) , however, it depends where one is located...how much water can be pumped from the well.

That sounds so familiar. We are in a stage 2 drought...meaning it's mandatory we have to reduce water consumption by 20%. It's going to
be a bad year for plants!
