I see a little primrose nestled in beside the Ypsilandra. Is the Ypsilandra from a blub, corm or rhizome? it's foliage looks like it might be. This is a wild flower in the U.K.? It is so unique. very beautiful too.
native plants are so much more interesting than naturalized ones in my opinion...

Ypsilandra grows from a tuber (although some sources refer to it as a rhizome). I think this species originates from Tibet (that's what thibetica in the name means). The genus ypsilandra only has seven species and three of them come from China; the rest are from the same part of the world.
The primrose is self-sown - both primula vulgaris and P.flaccida are growing nearby.
