They are quite ghostly aren’t they? I love them! I washed mine once in my last garden and it does make a big difference.

It was looking a bit green, I didn’t peel the bark, a bit came away though, I really like them too

It's looking great after a good ol' scrub!

I helped plant a number of these trees some years ago outside a sports centre in a town some way from where I live. Although I've visted the town a couple of times since helping to plant the trees I haven't been able to see them again. As far as I know they are still growing but I would like to see them again & get some photos of them.

Some years ago I was in Cambridge Botanical Gardens & they had some lovely specimens there. I took some photos of them & I think I may have posted a photo or two in one of the Cambridge Botanical Garden blogs I did a few years ago on GoY.

That's right Balcony. Cambridge BG has a beautiful winter garden with a mini forest of these. I've never been, but have seen it many times in books and magazines and TV shows. It's beautiful. A lot of Cornus if I remember rightly. Snowdrops and Opiophogon nigrescens etc. Winter flowering Heathers too. Maybe I will see it one day. :)
