The chateau at Villandry.

I'm not 'into' these formal gardens tbh. But that is a wonderful photo and I am quite envious of your trip. I really really really LOVE France and would like to spend more time exploring. One day....sigh...

Stunning. Like Karen I'm not a fan of formal gardens either, but I might make an exception here.

The only formal garden I have ever loved, is the one at Hampton Court Palace. Its wonderful. It manages to be romantic and pretty at the same time as formal. I find these excessive clipped hedges very cold and unfriendly.

I do love formal gardens, we missed out on their Chateau, we were only down the road too!
